Quartz Surface

Will quartz stone deform when applied to the floor?

Quartz stone is not new to us as a building decoration stone. At present, quartz stone is widely used in kitchen countertops, test benches, and windowsills. It must be said that countertops seem to be synonymous with quartz stone. Many people would say that quartz stone is exclusive to the tabletop, which is wrong. The reason why quartz stone was initially applied to the tabletop is that the production technology and capacity of quartz stone manufacturers are limited, and most of them rely on imports, which leads to the high price of quartz stone so that ordinary income families can only choose to apply it to the kitchen with high requirements for the countertops.

Artificial Brown Quartz Stone Slabs from China

With the improvement of production technology and capacity of Chinese quartz stone manufacturers, quartz stone has been widely used in overall home decoration. Due to the extremely low water absorption rate of quartz stone, the surface is smooth and difficult to paste. When traditional cement mortar is used for bonding and paving, water spots and discoloration are likely to occur if the treatment is improper, resulting in more hollowing, cracking, falling off, bulging, and other problems than natural stone.

Quartz stone is used in more and more places on the ground. To avoid various undesirable phenomena, the selection of materials is particularly important. The thickness of quartz stone should be more than 20mm. When purchasing, the manufacturer should explain the use of the ground, because the formula of quartz stone floor tiles is different from other application fields. The traditional cement paste paving shall be abandoned and the special adhesive powder shall be used. Since the surface of quartz stone is smooth, it must not be separated from the adhesive in the later stage, and the back glue should be brushed before paving.

1. For mixing rubber powder, the proportion of rubber powder and water should be 1 part of water and 4 parts of dry powder. The proportion of powder and water can be appropriately changed according to the construction habits to adjust the consistency. Use a low-speed (300r/min) electric mixer to stir evenly without raw powder.

2. Glue on the back. Brush the glue on the back 2 hours before using the board. The glue can only be used when it is completely transparent.

3. Paving: after confirming that the base surface is free of water and dust, scrape the quartz stone adhesive (strip shape/full batch scraping) with a thickness of more than 7mm-15mm. The same method is used for the back of the stone, with a thickness of 2-3mm. Then paste the quartz stone and gently tap it with a rubber mallet to make the newly pasted quartz stone fully fit with the adhesive. Then correct the joint between the horizontal plate and the adjacent plate. Note that 3mm or more joints should be reserved between the stones.
